Dr Sheila Laplante , Optometrist Owner
Originally from New Brunswick, Dr Laplante first studied health sciences at the University of Moncton before completing her Doctor of Optometry at the Université de Montréal. Graduated in 2004, she now has over twenty years of experience in the field. Her passion for paediatrics and binocular vision led her to deepen her knowledge in neuro-optometry and sports vision. She joined the Lunetterie Duncan team in 2023 and became co-owner in 2024, bringing her expertise, dedication and leadership to every intervention.
Dr Béatrice Stoll, Optometrist
Originally from Switzerland, Dr Stoll grew up on a farm, an experience that taught her early the importance of attentive observation and deep listening. A graduate of the Optometry School of the Université de Montréal in 1989, she then dedicated herself to general optometry, vision rehabilitation, contact lens fitting and the management of ocular disease.
Driven by a profound sense of care, Dr Stoll is especially committed to young children — helping them see well from the start — as well as people who communicate differently (for example those with ASD) or seniors facing loss of autonomy. She knows how to build trusting relationships, an essential condition to provide the highest quality of care.
Karine Chapdelaine, Optician Owner
Originally from the Montérégie region, Karine graduated as an optician in 2015 from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. Immediately after leaving school, she was recommended to join Lunetterie Duncan, which offered her an environment where she could flourish.
Karine has worn glasses since the age of 2, which gave her early a unique sensitivity to what her patients go through. She stands out for her rigor, organisational skills and love for precision: every frame adjusted, every lens polished, every fitting is an opportunity to make a difference. In her daily interventions, Karine brings not only technical expertise but also warmth and attentive listening. She loves the tangible side of her profession — seeing the tangible result of her work — and invests her energy so that every client leaves not only with good vision but also with a smile.
Annick Martineau, Optician Owner
Annick, originally from the Outaouais, is a certified optician since 2010 from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. An artist at heart, she hesitated between optics and interior design, but already knew she wanted to work with people, help and support. She joined the Lunetterie Duncan team in 2017, where her attentive eye, sense of style and kindness make all the difference.
Annick is not only a frame enthusiast: she is also the ecological conscience of the team. Re-use ideas, recycling initiatives and waste-reduction efforts often come from her. We’re grateful to her optometrist friend who pushed her into this beautiful optical world where she thrives.
Élènie Lalande, Optician
Originally from Gatineau, Élènie graduated in 2019 from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit and in July of the same year began her career in optics at Lunetterie Duncan. Motivated by human contact, she discovered early her passion for this field, both through customer service and the world of fashion.
She chose to join the boutique because, from her younger years, she appreciated the store’s warm and welcoming atmosphere as a customer. What she loves most about her work is the moment of connection with the clients: helping choose a frame, taking the time to serve well, and feeling the gratitude when the client leaves satisfied. For Élènie, Lunetterie represents an enriching professional opportunity where she is surrounded by a team that pushes her to grow every day.
Éric Duncan, Master Technician
Since 1986, Éric has immersed himself in the optical world. He learned the trade alongside his father, a renowned optician in the region, and it was from his earliest days that he developed a sharp sense of detail and a demand for quality.
In 1999, Éric earned his diploma from the Optical Sciences – Eyeglasses program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), a recognised training that gave him technical rigor and scientific expertise in the preparation and fitting of corrective lenses. Eric joined Lunetterie Duncan in 2008, where he has since put his know-how to use to offer each client top-tier optical products.
Attentive optometrists and advisors for personalized service.
